Taco Thug Life 4ever
I thought that ice cream people in New York had it bad but the taco truck business is just ruthless accorrding to OC Weekly. I know of at least 2 friends whose dreams will be crushed if they see this.

Bic Pens & Lava Bursts
Here are 2 incredible artists you should know about. First is Juan Francisco Casas (don’t Spaniards have great names?) who creates photo-like drawings of embarrassing facebook pics with only a bic pen at a scale that can reach up to 10 feet.
Also in a related note to the earlier 3D Mural post is Edgar Mueller whose adds extraordinary dimensions to the most mundane streetscape.

Nothing can stop legos whether it is recreating your favourite album cover or fixing crumbling buildings. Invest now before it’s too late!

DUI Meetup
I like bikes. I like beer. But you know sometimes combining the two just aren’t a good idea. Remember pizza ice cream?

Picture is Unrelated
Ok when I said the purpose of the internet was to look at men who look like old lesbians, I was slightly off. It is really made for Picture is Unrelated.

Unread Letters & Things Left Unsaid
This is a cute story but I almost wished they left the pictures out so our imaginations would fill-in the blanks. Read this ARTICLE on a long lost love letter working its magic after a decade of being sent.

But Can They Marry...
Not new to the world but new to me and I thought others should know the true reason the internet was created: Men Who Look Like Old Lesbians.

There's always room for Jell-O
Have you ever wondered what the head of Bill Cosby made of Jell-o shots would look like?

Being Cheap Comes at a Cost
I’ve been looking forward to reading Cheap: The High Cost of Discount Culture on the effect the disposable society has on the environment and economy. Chris Jordan’s series of photographs entitled “Intolerable Beauty: Portraits of American Mass Consumption” really capture the scope our lifestyles are having and how throwing away something doesn’t make it disappear....

8-Legged Pizza
The old saying goes, “Pizza is a lot like sex. When it’s good, it’s really good. When it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. I think Japan’s spider pizza and Armin Meiwes may disprove that rule.

Flower Power
When I was 12, I went to a wedding and sat to the side. From nowhere came a wayward ballistic missle of baby breath and rose petals. With cat-like reflexes I caught it and launched it back to the bride shouting “do over!” It was only a matter of time before a bouquet brought down an airplane.

Postcards from Strangers
I love postcards. In an era of e-mail anything that arrives at someone’s home that isn’t asking for money is a reason to celebrate. In that vein the very nice Stubblefield clan created this cute new website Postcards from Strangers.

Flags
I really enjoy a good flag. It is an easy way to identify, brand, and in rare cases scare the bejeezus out of people. There is a reason that people burn a country’s flag and that is because symbols matter. Here are a few of my favourites in no particular order.
The Gadsen Flag is simple and clear. Unfortunately the crazy right tends to waive it around when the whole democracy thing...

Chicago's Sister Cities
I like Chicago. I really do. If it wasn’t for winter I’d go all the time. I could do without all of their sister city signs at O’Hare though. I think it comes off as trying too hard and if you are trying to woo that foxy global community for a little late night olympics action then the last thing you want to do is come off as desparate.
They have 28 of these lined up on your...

Renter's Delight
This may be the best form of catharsis I’ve seen for dealing with a crazy landlord. God bless the internets and the little tubes they sleep in. Go visit http://strangerthaneviction.tumblr.com/ now! Even if it’s fake it’s a great idea for a writing project.

Cardboard Tube Fighting League
I like to believe I’m pretty savvy on the topic of ridiculous groups. I’ve known about the Society for Creative Anachronism for years. I grew up watching The World’s Strongest Man and am considering competing in the Four Square World Championships.
However, a West Coast phenomenon has eluded me until now, Cardboard Tube Fighting. My chances at an Olympic medal are growing...

July is for Baseball
When I need a fake name my favourite sources are old baseball players or one hit wonder soul singers. Just open up the Encyclopedia of R&B and Soul and flip. Did you know Tony Armato sang the 1959 hit Just To Be With You? Probably not, so why let such a good name go to waste. So while skimming through a book on ballplayers who made it to the Hall of Fame I discovered gold (and when I say...

NY Times - July 10, 1903
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., July 9.—The body of Edward Delehanty, the right fielder of the Washington baseball team of the American League, who fell from the International Bridge last Thursday night, was taken from the river at the lower Niagara gorge to-day. Relatives of Delehanty arrived here this afternoon and positively identified the body as that of the missing baseball player. The body of a woman...

Can You Hear Me Now?
The media steals; others may call it media trends. A good example is the disappearence of phone booths. Other than Superman and the very destitute, there isn’t much practical use for phone booths. Not a big surprise and there isn’t anything new this week that makes this fact any more apparent than it would for stories on the disappearence of horse drawn buggies or floppy discs, yet...
